Well, MikeDBoing and stvndysn have teamed up to get you thinking about Anchors.
Boat anchors? No, silly little sailorboy, try flaming, exploding anchors... as in Special FX anchors, for attaching particle effects to your models!
They have done a wonderful wink tutorial that shows workflow in both 3DSMax and Blender to help you learn how to affix fancy effects to models!
So ANCHORS AWEIGH! (Sorry, couldn't resist!) |

So our little modding family has grown -- again! By TWO this time! Bet ya didn't even know we were pregnant!
We've added both Shoni88 and skinz (also known as Bongoman) to our little gang of hoodlums!
Shoni started out simply trying to bring Predators into the game... and from there, has made some of the most amazing costumes, mods, and useful posts in the past few weeks, and seems to have a boundless amount of energy, and always willing to lend a hand, to help a modder out!
We figured, if anyone could, we could break him of that habit, quickly!
Though in reality the opposite will happen, we'll be harnessing some of that limitless energy and focusing it into an even-more-powerful laser-beam of modded content awesomeness!
skinz has been working on bringing a brand new angle to movie-making for The Movies, that at first glance, might seem counterintuitive: not using The Movies at all! Sacrilege, you say? No! Instead of fighting with the game's limitations and confines, he's freed us from them! How? He's figured out how to pull The Movies content into the mod-o-riffic playground that is Unreal Tournament!
What does this actually translate into? Well...let's see...
Imagine instead of filming the same old car jump where you are merely able to choose from filming it from this camera angle ... or that one.... to actually driving the car yourself!! We'll be working hard to bring you the ability to imagine an amazing stunt...and then actively participating in its performance!
Better buy a yourself a crash helmet, you're gonna need it! |

In case you missed the little sneak peek over at the Lionhead Forums, or you just always rolled your eyes at all that tricksy Gleem-speak in our forums about "golly gosh we will have proper scene editing... someday!"
Here's a whole raft of screenshots of the new Scene Ed app that I've been working on, from the earliest bits, through to the latest ones done just today!
Now, keep in mind that just because it's looking dead sexy, doesn't mean it does anything at all! The entire editing backend still needs to be hooked up to this pretty face.. In fact, these pictures have just about the same amount of functionality!
So enjoy the view! Click for larger images.
There's more under the "Read More" link too!
